Níger River Leyend

An old Bambara woman was once forced by the King to kill her cherished bull to feed the village.
She insisted on keeping the bull´s fat in a jar.At night, the fat turned into a beautiful girl who helped the woman with her chores. Each dawm, the girl melted into a fat an oozed back into the jar.
The King Heard about the beauty of the girl and went to see for himself.He was instantly smitten and decided to marry her.
She told him that she could not be exposed to daylight so he granted her romos with shutters wich were always closed. While the King was on a trip his jelous wives opened the shuters.The girl melted instantly and slipped down the valley becoming the Níger River.
